PC MHA for Grand Falls-Windsor – Green Bay South District
First elected to the House of Assembly on February 9, 1999 to represent the District of Windsor – Springdale, Ray Hunter was appointed PC Opposition Critic for Forestry and Agrifoods, and Vice-Chair of the Caucus Strategy Committee. He was re-elected in 2003 and again in 2007 for his third term for the district of Grand Falls-Windsor – Green Bay South as a Member of the Government Caucus. He was re-elected in the October 11, 2011 general election.
Ray graduated from F.G. Bursey Memorial Collegiate in 1972. He went on to graduate in Basic Electrical from the Trades College at Grand Falls-Windsor in 1973. He received his journeyman’s papers from the Trades College in St. John’s in 1976.
He has been owner-operator of his own business – Hunter’s Electrical Ltd. – since 1975. Ray and his wife Martha have a son Jason (daughter-in-law Renee), a daughter Laura, and one granddaughter Mallory. He has lived in the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor for 45 years. Ray has a long record of involvement in the community and provincial interests.
