Dan Crummell

PC MHA for St. John’s West District;
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills (Apprenticeship and Labour Market)

After graduating with Honours (’79) from St. Paul’s High School in Gander, Dan moved to St. John’s to pursue his post secondary education. He attended Memorial University of Newfoundland earning a Bachelor of Arts (’84) in Political Science with minors in History and English. While at Memorial Dan was elected Executive Vice President (’84-’85) and President (’85-’86) of Memorial University’s Council of the Student’s Union.

In 1986, Dan joined Molson Canada where for the past 25 years he worked in Sales and Marketing, the last ten years as Regional Sales Manager for Newfoundland and Labrador.

As a business leader Dan served on numerous boards and committees in the community including Destination St. John’s Event Secretariat, Stand On Guard Igor Hurricane Relief Concert Committee, South East Asia Tsunami Relief Concert Committee and Molson Canada’s Community Donations Fund Committee. Dan is a past coach in the St. John’s Caps Minor Hockey Association as well a member of the St. John’s Elk’s.

Dan is married to Valerie (nee Thomson) since 1991, he has three children, Heidi (18), Adele (18) and Kory (14). Dan has lived in the District of St. John’s West for over 20 years and resides on Topsail Road.

Dan was elected in the October 11, 2011 general election. On October 24, 2012, Dan was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills (Apprenticeship and Labour Market).
