Darryl Kelly

PC Candidate for Humber Valley District in the 2011 General Election

The Humber Valley is home for Darryl Kelly. A native of Howley, he completed high school in Deer Lake, studied at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and returned to his hometown in 1977 to pursue his passion for teaching.

A leader in both his professional and personal life, Darryl is committed to serving the best interests of the region. He has served as a school administrator in Howley, Cormack, and Deer Lake for the last thirty years.

Darryl is dedicated to giving back through his many volunteer activities. Most notably, he has been elected three times as a Councillor, and was elected Mayor of a growing, and financially stable town in 2005. He also represents municipalities in this region of the province as Western Director of Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador.

Darryl’s volunteer efforts have also supported the service of other major organizations including: the Humber Valley Heritage Society; the ’99 Canada Winter Games; the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association; SEDLER Community Employment Corporation; and the Grand Lake Centre of Economic Development.

A believer in the potential of the Humber Valley, Darryl and his wife Christine Warren, have raised three children here; Wendy, Joanne, and Richard.

Bringing experience and knowledge, and as a member of the Danny Williams team, Darryl Kelly will ensure the District of Humber Valley receives recognition in the House of Assembly.
