The Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador (PC Party) is preparing for its Leadership Convention in St. John’s this weekend, April 1-2, 2011.
“This convention is a momentous occasion of historical significance, as we will swear in our leader, the first female premier of the province; it will be history in the making. Party faithful will get the opportunity to demonstrate our full support and admiration for our new leader,” said PC Party President, John Babb. “It will also be an excellent opportunity to come together and celebrate our successes, as well as prepare for the election ahead.”
The convention will focus on swearing in our new leader, Premier Kathy Dunderdale and election readiness. On Friday evening, the Premier will address party delegates at celebratory dinner. Saturday morning will be dedicated to delegate training for election readiness, and Saturday afternoon will see the new leader sworn in at a rally.
“This is an exciting time for the PC Party in Newfoundland and Labrador, as Premier Kathy Dunderdale and her government continue to lead this province on a path for a strong and prosperous future,” added Mr. Babb. “This weekend will allow our dedicated team of Progressive Conservatives to come together, celebrate our past and plan for the successes ahead.”
